Anthropic Unveils Claude 2.1: Enhanced AI, Personalization, and Extended Document Analysis

The Claude 2.1 upgrade offers a context window of 200,000 tokens, enabling the analysis of lengthy documents of up to 150,000 words or 500 pages. This is double the capacity of the previous version, 2.0. Users can now upload the content of hefty books as knowledge for the chatbot to operate upon.

However, processing such long texts currently slows down responses to a few minutes. Anthropic expects the speed to increase gradually over time.

According to the manufacturer, Claude 2.1 also brings an increase in accuracy, aiming to halve the number of incorrect or hallucinated statements.

Customizable Persona

Anthropic introduces System Prompts with Claude 2.1, allowing users to provide tailored instructions and contexts to shape Claude’s persona, tone, rules, and background knowledge precisely.

The company, Anthropic, founded in 2021, recently received a $4 billion investment from Amazon.

The Claude 2.1 version is available for use in the Anthropic Chatbot as well as in their paid API solutions, priced at $20 per month. Subscribers to Perplexity also have access to this upgrade.
