Microsoft 365 Services Facing Disruptions in Germany and UK, Investigation Underway

Users of Microsoft’s cloud services are currently experiencing limited functionality, at least in Germany and the United Kingdom. The company stated on X, formerly known as Twitter, “We are investigating an issue where some users in the UK and Germany may not be able to access Microsoft 365 services.” Affected users can find additional information in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

According to Microsoft’s status monitor, users may “possibly be unable to access one or more Microsoft 365 services.” Microsoft did not provide a detailed explanation of the extent of the outage but is currently examining diagnostic data to determine the cause of the problem. It is reported to affect only “a subset of users” in the European region.

Prior to this incident, the Downdetector website recorded an increase in problem reports, with more than 1,200 users reportedly complaining about issues, as reported by the BBC.

Microsoft 365 users faced significant problems with the Exchange email service in July 2023. The company confirmed the issues on the status monitor in the morning, and by midday, the “impact had been mitigated.” Earlier, in June 2023, disruptions to Outlook and Teams occurred due to a DDoS attack.
