Tesla’s Cybertruck, the iconic pick-up, is about to take on a whole new adventure – it’s going to swim! Elon Musk, the head honcho at Tesla, dropped the bombshell announcement that they’re turning the Cybertruck into a watercraft.

Musk spilled the beans on X (previously known as Twitter), revealing, “We’re rolling out a modification kit that will let the Cybertruck cruise through at least 100 meters of water.” Their main focus? Upgrading those door seals to ensure it’s watertight.

This isn’t the first time Musk hinted at the Cybertruck’s amphibious potential. Last year, he boasted about its waterproofing, claiming it could double as a temporary boat, tackling rivers, lakes, and even calm seas.

But here’s the kicker – Musk wants the Cybertruck to journey from SpaceX’s Starbase (the rocket launch site) all the way to South Padre Island, a little adventure that involves crossing a 360-meter-wide channel.

Now, here’s the fascinating part: the Cybertruck comes prepared for this aquatic escapade with a special “Wade Mode,” tucked away in its off-road settings menu. Activate it, and voila! The Cybertruck gains higher ground clearance and improved water protection for its battery.

Excitingly, a startup called TSWLM Electric Vehicles is also in on the action. They teased a modular kit named Cybercat, complete with floaters and outboard motors, turning the Cybertruck into a boat in mere minutes.

But wait, there’s more! TSWLM has bigger plans in store – a version fitted with hydrofoils. These fancy wings lift the watercraft out of the water, reducing resistance and potentially boosting its speed to new levels. That’s one serious upgrade for the Cybertruck’s aquatic adventures!
