Motorola Signature 27 release date in the US, and the price worry

Motorola has promised a US launch before the end of 2026, but a European store listing hints the phone could cost far more than the last Signature.

Motorola's Signature 27 is coming to the US, but there's no release date yet. The company has confirmed a North American launch and says the global release is due before the end of 2026, so November or December looks likely.

The worry is price. A Portuguese store listed the 512GB model early at €1,594.90, about $1,775. The first Signature cost €999 in Europe, so that would be an increase approaching 60%. The listing could be a placeholder, and Motorola hasn't set a US price.

  • Chip: Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
  • Cameras: 50MP main and 200MP periscope zoom.
  • Seven years of software and security updates.

Wait for Motorola's own store or your carrier before buying, and for the battery and screen specs that are still missing.

There’s no exact Motorola Signature 27 release date for the USA yet, but Motorola has committed to two things: the phone is coming to North America, and its global launch is due before the end of 2026. That means a US arrival in November or December looks likely, though Motorola has only ever said it will land in the coming months.

The bigger question for buyers is price. A Portuguese retailer has listed the phone early at €1,594.90, which works out to roughly $1,775. If that’s close to Motorola’s real plan, the bargain flagship that made the first Signature popular in Europe is gone. Here’s what’s confirmed, what’s leaked and what to do if you’re waiting.

01

Motorola Signature 27 release date: what Motorola has said

Motorola first showed the phone in late September at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit, the chipmaker’s yearly event in Hawaii. Soon after, it told reporters the Signature 27 would be the newest addition to its North American phone lineup, with a release in the coming months.

That’s a big deal on its own. The original Signature, which Motorola unveiled at CES in January 2026, never came to the US. Motorola hasn’t sold a true flagship phone in America in several years.

Since then the company has drip-fed details but still hasn’t revealed the battery, charging speed or screen, let alone the final price and on-sale date. Canada is part of the North American launch, though Motorola hasn’t said whether it arrives there on the same day. For UK buyers, the promised global release should include Europe, where the first model was already sold.

The leaked price: why the Signature 27 could cost far more

The numbers come from MegaPC, a retailer in Portugal that put up listings too early. Its page shows the Signature 27 with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage in the black Pantone Coal Smoke color for €1,594.90. The phone is marked unavailable, with no delivery estimate.

Compare that with the first Signature, which went on sale in the EU for €999 with the same memory and storage. The new listing would be an increase approaching 60%. In some other regions, the original Signature started at a little over $600.

There are good reasons to be cautious:

  • Early store listings often use placeholder prices that change before launch.
  • The same retailer’s page for the Razr Flex 27 used placeholder images and called that phone a flip-style clamshell, which doesn’t match what’s expected.
  • The two listings are only €84 apart, which seems too close for two very different phones.

Still, the direction makes sense. Memory chips have become much more expensive this year because of an ongoing RAM shortage, and phone makers have been passing some of that on. European prices also include sales tax, so a US price would likely come in lower than a straight conversion, but there’s no official US figure to go on yet.

The other leak: a cheaper wide Razr foldable

The same store also listed the Razr Flex 27, Motorola’s unannounced wide, book-style foldable, the kind of shape the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and iPhone Duo use. It appears with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for €1,510.90, roughly $1,680. Motorola’s current Razr Fold launched at €1,999.99 in Europe, so the Flex could slot in below it. A launch around mid-December has been suggested for the Flex, but Motorola hasn’t announced a date.

What you get: confirmed Signature 27 specs

Motorola has confirmed only part of the spec sheet, but it’s a serious one:

  • Chip: Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. The Signature 27 was the first phone announced with it.
  • Cameras: a 50MP main camera using Sony’s Lytia 910 sensor and a 200MP periscope zoom camera. The back shows four lenses in total, so there’s more to come.
  • Cooling: a system Motorola calls ArcticMesh, which mixes liquid metal, a diamond-infused thermal gel and copper mesh with a 3D vapor chamber 40% larger than the last model’s.
  • Sound: speakers tuned by Bang & Olufsen, the first phone in a multiyear partnership between the two companies.
  • Updates: seven years of software and security support, matching Samsung and Google.
  • Design: an aluminum frame with a woven-texture black or a softer green called Pantone Capulet Olive.

For a sense of the missing pieces, the first Signature had a 5,200mAh silicon-carbon battery, 90W wired charging and a 6.8-inch screen that refreshed at 165Hz. The new model will probably at least match those.

Should US buyers wait for it?

If you want a big-screen Android flagship before the holidays, the Signature 27 is worth waiting a few weeks to see, especially if you liked OnePlus phones. It targets the same kind of buyer, with a fast chip, strong cooling for games and a big zoom camera. It’s also pitched as a rival to Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra.

But set yourself a price limit. If the US price lands anywhere near the European listing, the Signature 27 would cost more than most premium phones, and close to Motorola’s own Razr Fold, which costs $1,899.99 in the US. At that point the Galaxy’s long track record and wide carrier support become harder to ignore.

Practical tips while you wait:

  1. Don’t pre-order from unofficial listings. Wait for Motorola’s own US store or a major carrier.
  2. Check carrier support. Motorola flagships haven’t been sold widely in the US recently, so confirm your carrier will offer or fully support it.
  3. Wait for the full spec sheet. Battery size, charging speed and the screen are still unannounced, and they matter as much as the chip.
