The XPS 16 Creator Edition is the priciest RTX Spark laptop yet, about $1,000 more than an Asus rival. Here is what Dell's price buys and who should wait.
Dell's XPS 16 Creator Edition is its first XPS laptop built on Nvidia's RTX Spark platform, and it starts at $3,799.99 in the US. That buys an 18-core Nvidia N1X processor, a 5,120-core Blackwell graphics chip, 32GB of shared memory and a 512GB SSD, plus a 16-inch tandem OLED touchscreen.
Preorders opened Oct. 7 through Best Buy, with first units due Oct. 16. Dell is the most expensive RTX Spark option so far.
A version with 128GB of memory is coming later, with no price yet. Unless you edit video or run AI models locally, a cheaper laptop will serve you just as well.
Dell’s first laptop built on Nvidia’s new RTX Spark platform costs $3,799.99, and that’s the starting price. The XPS 16 Creator Edition comes with 32GB of memory and just 512GB of storage at that price, making it the most expensive entry ticket among the RTX Spark laptops announced so far.
That matters if you’re shopping for a powerful Windows laptop for video editing, photo work or running AI tools on your own machine. RTX Spark is Nvidia’s first full PC platform, pairing its own processor with its graphics chips, and Dell’s version sits roughly $1,000 above a comparable Asus model. The question is whether the XPS badge and a gorgeous screen justify the gap.

First units were due to arrive on Oct. 16, the same day RTX Spark laptops went on sale worldwide.
Dell hasn’t published prices for the UK, Canada or other regions yet, and it hasn’t priced the higher-spec versions either. If you’re outside the US, check Dell’s local store before assuming the US price will carry over.
The base XPS 16 Creator Edition uses an 18-core Nvidia N1X processor with a 5,120-core Blackwell graphics chip. RTX Spark pairs an Arm-based Nvidia CPU, the same kind of chip design used in most phones, with RTX graphics.
The headline feature is unified memory. Instead of splitting memory between the processor and the graphics chip, both share one pool, here 32GB of fast LPDDR5X. That helps with big video projects, 3D scenes and local AI models, which can use far more memory than the separate video memory in a typical laptop.
A more powerful version is coming. Dell plans an XPS 16 with a 20-core Grace CPU, a 6,144-core Blackwell GPU and 128GB of unified memory, the top of what RTX Spark supports. That much shared memory lets developers run much larger AI models locally. Dell hasn’t said what it will cost.

The display is one of the best reasons to consider this laptop. It’s a 16-inch tandem OLED touchscreen at 3,200 x 2,000 pixels with a variable refresh rate from 20Hz up to 120Hz, so it can slow down on static images to save power and speed up for smooth motion.
For color-critical work, Dell lists full DCI-P3 color coverage, factory calibration to Delta E below 2 (a measure of color accuracy where lower is better), Pantone validation and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification. Peak brightness is rated at up to 1,000 nits for bright HDR highlights.

The SD slot is a genuine perk for photographers and videographers, who can pull footage straight off a camera card without a dongle.
Six brands now sell RTX Spark laptops: Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft and MSI. Dell’s is the priciest at launch.
Dell does give you more memory to start. The base Surface and ProArt models ship with 24GB, versus Dell’s 32GB. But the Asus ProArt P16 has a sharper 3,840 x 2,400 OLED screen rated for up to 1,600 nits in HDR, it’s lighter at about 3.9 pounds, and Asus already sells versions with the 20-core chip, 128GB of memory and 2TB of storage. Paying nearly $3,800 for only 512GB of storage is hard to love.
For most people, no. This is a professional tool priced well above mainstream laptops. If you mostly browse, stream and write documents, a much cheaper machine will feel just as fast day to day.
It makes more sense if you run AI models locally, edit high-resolution video or do color-accurate photo work. According to Dell, popular creative apps such as Premiere, Photoshop, DaVinci Resolve and Blender already have native versions for RTX Spark, while older Windows apps run through Microsoft’s Prism emulation. Gaming is supported too, including anti-cheat systems like Easy Anti-Cheat and BattlEye.
Early reviews of RTX Spark laptops praise the graphics but flag processor performance that trails some of Apple’s chips, plus battery life that can drop under heavy loads. Before buying, check that the specific apps and plug-ins you rely on run well on the Arm-based platform, and test it with your real workload if you can.
