Chucky, known in Dead by Daylight as The Good Guy, leaves the game's stores on November 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM Eastern. After that, new players can't buy the chapter or his cosmetics.
Sale: 50% off on all platforms until removal, bringing the chapter to $2.49.
Owners: keep Chucky, his add-ons and cosmetics, and can still play him.
Perks: his three perks are renamed and join the general killer pool.
Behaviour hasn't said why he is leaving, but fans point to licensing, as with Pinhead and Michael Myers before him. The studio says icons are always welcome to return, as the Stranger Things characters did. If you want Chucky, unlock him through an official store before the deadline, and ignore resellers asking for inflated prices.
Chucky has less than four weeks left in the Fog. Behaviour Interactive, the studio behind Dead by Daylight, says the Chucky Chapter will disappear from every store on November 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM Eastern, nearly three years after the killer doll arrived. Until then, it costs half price.
If you searched for Dead by Daylight Chucky leaving, here is the key point: if you buy or unlock him before that deadline, you keep him. He stays playable, cosmetics and all. Miss it, and there may be no legitimate way to get him back. Below are the exact dates, what owners keep, what happens to his perks and why licensed killers keep leaving the game.
01
When is Chucky leaving Dead by Daylight?
Chucky is leaving Dead by Daylight stores on Tuesday, November 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM Eastern. That covers both the in-game store and platform storefronts such as consoles and PC shops. After that, nobody new can buy the chapter or any of its outfits.
Behaviour announced the change on the game’s official social accounts and followed up with an FAQ. Its message framed it as the doll leaving the shelf, a nod to the toy-box theme of the character, known in-game as The Good Guy.
The last-chance Chucky sale
To soften the blow, Behaviour started a farewell sale on Monday, October 26, and it runs right up to the removal date.
Discount: 50% off everything in the Chucky Chapter, on all platforms
Chapter price: $2.49, down from $4.99
Includes: Chucky as a playable killer, plus a Good Guy Box charm, according to sale listings
Ends: November 24 at 11:00 AM Eastern, when the chapter leaves stores
If you have ever thought about playing him, this is the cheapest he will ever be and the last time he will be for sale. Buy through the official in-game store or your platform store only. Once a killer leaves, scalpers start selling old keys at absurd prices; after Pinhead left, keys for removed chapters turned up on reseller sites, with one listing at $2,270.

What owners keep after November 24
Owners keep everything. Behaviour says any content unlocked before the deadline remains available in-game. In practice, that means:
You can still pick Chucky as your killer in matches, including the 2v8 mode.
You keep his add-ons and any cosmetics you have already unlocked.
You can keep levelling him up with Bloodpoints.
Behaviour will keep fixing bugs for him.
What stops is new content. Behaviour’s FAQ says no future add-ons are planned for Chucky, and his outfits will no longer be sold. Specific achievements tied to him will be turned into general ones that don’t depend on one character, so achievement hunters don’t get locked out.
03
What happens to Chucky’s perks
Players who never bought Chucky don’t lose his perks. All three join the general pool that every killer can use, under new names that no longer mention him:
Hex: Two Can Play becomes Hex: Eye for an Eye
Batteries Included becomes Gaining Steam
Friends ’til the End becomes One Track Mind
Chucky never came with his own map, so no map is leaving with him. Pinhead’s perks went the same way when he left, which is a small bonus for players building killers on a budget.
04
Why Dead by Daylight keeps losing killers
Chucky is the third big horror icon to leave in under two years. Hellraiser’s Pinhead was pulled from digital stores in 2025 after joining in 2021, and Halloween’s Michael Myers, the first licensed killer the game ever added, left in January.
Behaviour hasn’t said why Chucky is going. Licensing is the obvious guess, and the pattern fits: both Pinhead and Michael Myers left around the time their franchises got new games of their own, Hellraiser: Revival and Halloween: The Game. Some players suspect a Child’s Play game is coming next, but nothing has been announced.
The studio insists it would keep every license forever if it could. In a statement, it said licenses leave only when keeping them isn’t possible, and that horror icons have an open invitation to join, or rejoin, the game.
There is a precedent for comebacks. The Stranger Things characters left in 2021 and returned two years later under a new deal. That is no promise for Chucky, though, so if you want him, don’t count on a second chance.
Even if you never play as killer, you will notice. Fewer people can buy Chucky after November 24, so you will probably face him less often as a survivor. That has been the pattern after every removal, and it is why fans are especially frustrated this time, with three iconic killers fading out in a short span.
The roster isn’t shrinking overall. Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th joined this year for the game’s tenth anniversary, and Art the Clown from the Terrifier films is set to arrive in November. Behaviour has also said a graphics overhaul for the whole game is planned for the second half of 2027.
For now, the practical advice is simple: if Chucky is on your list, unlock him before November 24 at 11:00 AM Eastern, and only through official stores.
