Samsung hasn't announced the Galaxy Fit 4 or a release date. But the budget fitness band was reportedly certified by the FCC in August, renders have leaked, and a teardown of its companion app shows most of its features, all signs that a launch is close.
It is expected to cost under $100. The Fit 3 launched in February 2024 at around $60, and Google's new Fitbit Edge costs $180.
The design looks almost identical to the Fit 3.
A slightly taller screen, up to 12 tiles and sleep coaching are new.
There's no sign of built-in GPS.
If you own a Fit 3, the upgrade looks small. If you want a first cheap tracker for a Galaxy phone, it's worth waiting for Samsung's announcement and the first reviews.
There is no official Galaxy Fit 4 release date yet. Samsung hasn’t announced the fitness band, but nearly every sign that comes before a launch has already appeared: a reported FCC certification in August, leaked renders and videos, and now a teardown of the Galaxy Fit4 Manager companion app that lays out most of its features. That points to a launch soon, and probably at a price under $100.
That matters if you want a cheap, simple tracker rather than a full smartwatch. The Fit line is Samsung’s budget option, and its rival just got pricier: Google’s new Fitbit Edge costs $180. If the Fit 4 lands where the leaks suggest, it could cost around half as much while covering the basics most people want, such as steps, heart rate and sleep.

When is the Galaxy Fit 4 release date?
Samsung hasn’t confirmed a date, and no leak so far gives one. What we can do is read the timeline, which has moved quickly:
June: the first Galaxy Fit 4 rumors appeared, suggesting a launch this year.
July: Samsung was already testing REV2.0 hardware, a sign the band was past its early prototype stage.
August: the band was reportedly certified by the FCC, the US regulator that approves wireless devices before sale, under model number SM-R391.
October: renders leaked, followed by a teardown of the companion app.
A companion app with finished features and real watch faces usually means the software is nearly ready. Gadgets typically go on sale within months of FCC approval, so a launch before the end of the year or early next year looks realistic. For comparison, the Galaxy Fit 3 was unveiled in February 2024.
Treat that as an educated guess, not a date. Until Samsung confirms it, nobody outside the company knows exactly when the Fit 4 arrives in the US, UK or Canada.
02
How much will the Galaxy Fit 4 cost?
The Fit 4 is expected to cost under $100. The Fit 3 launched at around $60, so the new band should stay firmly in budget territory, though memory and component costs have pushed prices up across gadgets this year, which could nudge it higher than its predecessor.
Samsung hasn’t shared UK or Canadian pricing, and we won’t guess at converted figures. If the Fit 4 follows the Fit 3, expect it to sell in all three countries.

What’s new in the Galaxy Fit 4
Don’t expect a new look. Leaked renders and videos show a band that’s almost impossible to tell apart from the Fit 3: the same stretched rectangular screen with rounded corners, one button on the side, a silicone strap and the heart-rate sensor in the middle of the back next to the charging contacts.
The changes are mostly inside and in the software, based on the companion app teardown:
Taller screen: watch faces measure 258 by 428 pixels, up slightly from the Fit 3’s 256 by 402.
More tiles: up to 12 swipeable tiles at once for quick info.
Sleep coaching: on-device sleep tracking with stages and scores, plus a coaching option that unlocks after you’ve worn the band for 7 days.
Smarter notifications: a choice between alerts on both phone and band, or a smart mode that picks one device.
Newer Bluetooth: Bluetooth 5.4, up from 5.3 on the Fit 3.
Find My Phone: built in, like before.
Leaks disagree on colors. One set of renders shows black, light blue and white, while watch faces in the app suggest black, silver and light green. Expect black either way.
04
The catch: still no GPS
The biggest missing piece is built-in GPS. Nothing in the teardown points to a GPS receiver, which suggests the Fit 4 will again rely on your phone to map runs and rides. If you want to leave your phone at home on a run and still get an accurate route, a smartwatch or a pricier tracker is still the safer bet.
Battery size and any new health sensors are also unknown. Those details will decide whether the Fit 4 is a real upgrade or just a refresh.
The Fit 4 keeps everything from the Fit 3 and fills in some gaps. According to the companion app, it tracks:
Daily steps, active time and activity calories
Heart rate, with alerts when it runs unusually high or low, and heart-rate zones during exercise
Blood oxygen levels
Stress, measured on demand or continuously, with high-stress alerts
Workouts, including automatic recognition of some activities
Deeper features, such as cycle tracking, water and food logging and breathing exercises, live in the Samsung Health app on your phone.
06
Should you wait for the Galaxy Fit 4?
If you already own a Fit 3, probably not. The upgrade looks small: a slightly bigger screen, more tiles and sleep coaching. Wait for reviews and the battery figures before deciding.
If you’re shopping for your first budget tracker and use a Galaxy phone, waiting a little makes sense. A launch looks close, and the Fit 4 should undercut the $180 Fitbit Edge by a wide margin. If you need GPS for running, though, neither Fit model is the answer.
