Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will launch outside China later in November, after their September debut there. It hasn't named a date or the countries yet.

An Italian retailer listing gives an early, unofficial look at European prices: €1,783.90 for the Pro Max with 512GB, and €1,398.90 for the 256GB Pro. That's close to double the Chinese prices and about what last year's Xiaomi 17 Ultra cost in Europe.

  • Global models appear to get smaller batteries: 7,050mAh on the Pro Max instead of 8,500mAh.
  • The dual 200MP Leica cameras, bright screens and rear display stay the same.
  • Xiaomi has announced no US pricing, and the US and Canada aren't named as launch markets.

Official prices, colors and a sale date should arrive at the November launch event, so wait for those before budgeting.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max global release date is now pinned to November: Xiaomi has started teasing an international launch for later this month, about two months after the phone went on sale in China. The company hasn’t given an exact day yet, and the early price signals are steep. An Italian store listing puts the Pro Max at €1,783.90.

If you live in the UK, Europe or North America and have been eyeing those dual 200MP Leica cameras, this is the moment the phone stops being an import-only curiosity. But there are two catches worth knowing before you get excited: the global version looks to have a noticeably smaller battery than the Chinese one, and Xiaomi still hasn’t said a word about the US or Canada.

01

When is the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max global release date?

Xiaomi has confirmed a global debut for the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max later in November, in a social media post teasing the launch. It has not announced an event date, a sale date or a list of countries.

Here is the timeline so far:

  • September 23: both phones were unveiled in China.
  • Soon after: Xiaomi said the series would roll out globally later in 2026.
  • Late October: the phones appeared on the website of Epto, an Italian retailer, with European prices and specs.
  • This month: Xiaomi’s teasers point to the international launch landing before the end of November.

Expect official regional prices, final memory options and colors to be confirmed at that announcement. Until then, everything about European pricing comes from leaks and listings, not Xiaomi.

How much will the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max cost in Europe and the UK?

Probably a lot, if the Italian listing holds. Epto showed these prices, which Xiaomi has not confirmed:

  • Xiaomi 18 Pro Max (12GB/512GB): €1,783.90, the only version listed
  • Xiaomi 18 Pro (12GB/512GB): €1,591.90
  • Xiaomi 18 Pro (12GB/256GB): €1,398.90

An earlier leak was a little higher still, with the Pro Max at €1,849 and the base Pro at €1,449. Either way, that’s a big jump from China, where the Pro starts at 5,999 yuan and the Pro Max at 6,999 yuan. Those Chinese prices are close to half the European figures.

For context, Xiaomi’s previous top phone in Europe, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, launched there at €1,499. That means a regular Pro could now cost about the same as last year’s Ultra. Rising memory and storage chip prices are the reason the leakers give.

No UK price in pounds has leaked yet. Don’t convert the euro numbers yourself and treat them as gospel: UK pricing often differs from a straight exchange-rate swap, and Xiaomi will set it separately.

03

Is the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max coming to the US or Canada?

Nothing confirmed points that way. Xiaomi has not announced official US retail pricing for either model, and its teasers only promise a “global” launch. Reports expect the rollout to cover Europe, the Middle East and parts of the Americas, but no source names the US or Canada specifically.

So if you’re searching for a Xiaomi 18 Pro Max US release date or a Canadian price, the honest answer today is that there isn’t one. Converted from euros, the Pro Max works out to roughly $1,993, which would put it in the same bracket as the most expensive phones Americans can buy at a carrier store.

If you plan to import one from Europe, check two things first. Make sure the model supports the network bands your carrier uses, and know that you’ll be relying on the seller, not a local store, if something breaks under warranty.

The battery catch on global models

The listings show the global phones getting smaller batteries than the Chinese versions, and that’s the biggest spec change buyers outside China should weigh.

  • Xiaomi 18 Pro Max: 7,050mAh globally, down from 8,500mAh in China
  • Xiaomi 18 Pro: 6,000mAh globally, down from 7,000mAh in China

The figures come from the EU’s EPREL database (an energy-label register for products sold in Europe), which lists an estimated endurance of 70 hours 40 minutes for the Pro Max and 66 hours 30 minutes for the Pro. Both are rated to keep 80% of their capacity after 1,000 charge cycles. Phones often ship with smaller cells outside China because of international shipping and safety rules on large batteries.

Charging changes a little too. The global Pro Max keeps 100W wired charging, while the regular Pro reportedly drops from 100W to 90W. Both keep 50W wireless charging.

What you get: key Xiaomi 18 Pro Max specs

Apart from the battery, the global hardware is expected to match the Chinese phones. Here’s what the Pro Max brings:

  • Screen: a flat 6.9-inch OLED with a 1 to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness
  • Rear screen: a small 2.9-inch OLED on the back for notifications, widgets and framing selfies with the main cameras
  • Cameras: three Leica-tuned lenses, including a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor, a 200MP periscope telephoto with 3.2x optical zoom and a 50MP ultrawide
  • Chip: a higher-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon processor than the regular Pro, plus a larger cooling system
  • Memory: 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage in the leaked European listing
  • Toughness: IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water, with Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0
  • Weight: about 235 grams
  • Software: HyperOS 4

The Pro Max also uses a different main sensor with LOFIC, a technology meant to handle scenes with very bright and very dark areas at once. Xiaomi says its telephoto camera lets in 83% more light than the one on the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, though that’s a company claim, not an independent test.

06

Pro or Pro Max: which one makes sense?

The two phones share the same core camera system and the same charging speeds on the global Pro Max, so the choice comes down to size, battery and budget.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro has a 6.4-inch screen, a 2.7-inch rear display and weighs about 203 grams, so it’s easy to use with one hand. The Pro Max is noticeably bigger and heavier, but it has the larger battery, the faster chip and the bigger screen for video and games.

On the leaked European prices, the Pro Max costs a little under €200 more than a 512GB Pro. If you mainly want the cameras, the smaller phone gets you most of the way there. If battery life matters most, keep in mind that the global Pro Max’s 7,050mAh cell is now close to what the Chinese Pro carries.

Colors in the European listing are White, Velvet Red and Black, for both models.
